Satellite Mission Ops Manager — Key Summary Lead a team of spacecraft operators and manage mission operations, ground infrastructure, and on‑orbit activities. Role covers mission design, planning, spacecraft testing, operations, and anomaly resolution in a fast‑paced environment.
Core Responsibilities
Lead development of spacecraft CONOPS, mission planning, and operational simulations
Build, train, and manage the spacecraft operations team
Support flight software configuration, spacecraft checkout, and pre‑launch testing
Conduct on‑orbit operations, data analysis, and anomaly resolution
Develop mission planning, orbit determination, and automation tools (Python)
Interface with customers and ground station networks
Collaborate with spacecraft systems engineering
Work flexible hours as needed to support mission ops
Required Experience
Team leadership in spacecraft operations
Automated mission ops development
Mission CONOPS planning/execution
Python programming and mission-design tools (FreeFlyer, STK, etc.)
Data analysis for performance validation and anomaly detection
Ground segment and comm‑chain familiarity
Strong technical and communication skills
Desired Experience
Spacecraft avionics, failure modes, and debugging
Orbital mechanics and OD techniques
GN&C simulation/testing
DoD/USG program experience; ability to hold a clearance
Education
BS in Aerospace Engineering or related field
10+ years relevant experience
