To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this .**Advanced Practice Director - Critical Care****UTower Hospital**The Advanced Practice Director develops managerial goals and objectives for the division's APRN/PA/Nurses and assists with direction of nursing staff. Moreover, the incumbent provides administrative leadership and direction for all full time and per diem/pool APRN/PA in the division. Further, the Advanced Practice Director coordinates the orientation of all nursing staff in the division, as well as assisting them in the completion of MD/APRN protocols and credentialing needed to comply with Florida Board and University regulations.**JOB FUNCTIONS**

1. Works closely with all physicians in completing APRN/PAs yearly performance evaluations.

2. Assists administrators/physicians in development of job descriptions and MD/APRN Collaborative Agreement Protocols for newly established APRN/PA positions.

3. Coordinates and provides clinical orientation for new APRN/PAs.

4. Assists with all state mandated regulatory documentation compliance for APRNs.

5. Schedules staff to provide adequate APRN coverage for the division’s faculty.

6. Performs random chart review to ensure staff compliance to hospital required documentation.

7. Assists with the development of written policies and procedures.

8. Assists in new program implementation, such as new computer system and staff documentation updates.

9. Performs formal and informal teaching related to any assigned topics.

10. Attends individual supervisory sessions, department staff meetings, and hospital committee meetings and in-services.

11. Coordinates necessary educational opportunities for other APRNs.

12. Serves as liaison between the medical staff, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.

13. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

**CORE QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education:**

Master's degree in relevant field required

**Experience:**

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. **2-3 years of leadership experience (APP Leadership experience preferred).**

**Certification and Licensing:**

APRN or PA License**Acute Care Certification required**
