Health and Wellness Director/Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing (DON) is an integral member of the management team, contributing healthcare leadership to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. The DON will plan, organize, and direct clinical services in accordance with regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure quality care. They will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, focusing on employee and resident safety. Required Skills, Experiences, and Competencies

The responsibilities include Resident Care, Nursing Leadership, and Regulatory Safety and Compliance: Leadership Excellence:

Manage and inspire a team through recruiting, mentoring, and coaching. Resident-Centric Care:

Perform assessments, coordinate care plans, and provide personalized care. Effective Collaboration:

Liaise with staff, vendors, and medical professionals. Quality Assurance:

Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, and ensure protocol compliance. Continuous Oversight:

Manage medication, audits, incident reports, and investigations. Emergency Response:

Assist during emergencies. Industry Experience

Five years’ management experience preferred. Knowledge of standards for geriatric care, complex medical conditions, and promoting independence. Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology is highly preferred. Expertise in safety and infection control practices. Leadership in building and developing nursing teams. Leadership Qualities

High judgment and diplomacy, managing diverse perspectives and motivating teams. Conflict resolution skills. Servant leadership aligned with Pegasus culture: mission-driven, compassionate, humble, and driven to succeed. Proven success in hiring, developing, and retaining quality care staff. Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Current LVN, LPN, or RN license; RN preferred. Five to seven years’ experience in senior care preferred.
