Position Summary The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for oversight of all aspects of inside sales, Parker Store and warehouse operations, including inventory, product handling and personnel management in a friendly, fast‑paced team environment.
Primary Duties
Hire and manage, coach, mentor, train, and support all direct reports.
Directly support and coordinate with the Branch Manager.
Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner with good communication skills.
Generate and maintain accurate required documentation.
Address and resolve all warehouse or inside sales issues utilizing a positive and creative approach.
Manage inventory control and cycle counting while ensuring quality control.
Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner, including item location and invoicing.
Communicate in a positive manner with delivery personnel and team members to ensure proper flow of orders & products.
Collaborate with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
Promote employee teamwork to achieve the highest level of customer service and ethical business practices.
Encourage positive thinking approaches to problem solving and motivation through employee recognition.
Provide superior customer service and support company goals.
Address and resolve personnel issues.
Basic Requirements
Must be over the age of 18 to apply. Experience or education in warehousing and management is desired.
Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced work environment.
Solid computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.
Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner who can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented.
Experience with industrial distribution preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring and climbing ladders as needed.
Work environment may vary including: warehouse containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements, office work, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers.
