Job Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting production operations during assigned shifts to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met. This role oversees product leads, extrusion leads and quality staff, while partnering with plant leadership to drive operational excellence. The shift supervisor balances a strong focus on production results with team development, ensuring employees are trained, engaged and performing to their full potential.
Job Location This position is an on‑site role located in Nephi, UT.
Job Responsibilities
Enforce safety standards and ensure consistent use of PPE
Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free work areas
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Execute and oversee production schedules to meet output, quality and delivery goals
Monitor production metrics (scrap, pounds, feet) and take corrective actions when needed
Partner with leads to optimize workflow, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency
Collaborate with maintenance to resolve equipment issues quickly
Supervise shift personnel, providing direction and clear expectations
Train, coach, and mentor employees
Hold team members accountable while fostering a positive, respectful work culture
Manage PTO and timekeeping to ensure adequate shift coverage
Ensure packaging and quality standards are consistently met
Partner with QA staff to address and prevent bad products
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to identify and implement process enhancements
Accurately complete production reports, paperwork, and compliance documentation
Job Requirements
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in manufacturing
Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality
Proven ability to manage production performance metrics
Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to motivate diverse teams
Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and able to make sound decisions under pressure
