Please see Special Instructions for more details. The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part‑time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.

As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report are the employee’s responsibility.

Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Part Time – Music Instructor

Location:

Woodland Community College – Woodland, CA

Job Description BASIC FUNCTION:

Develop and deliver instructional lectures for music courses up to 10 hours/week.

Organize and teach all levels of music classes.

Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.

Teach day, evening, and/or weekend assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses.

Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.

Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired.

REQUIRED DUTIES:

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications stated below:

Master’s degree in music OR

Bachelor’s degree in music AND

Master’s in humanities

OR the equivalent.

EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT:

All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching music at high school or college level. For sabbatical replacement in 2024‑25 academic year, we especially seek candidates with choral and musical directing experience, and/or experience teaching music history, voice or piano.

Physical Demands Range/Step: Class I – VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).

Salary Range Part‑time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
