Position Overview YMC is seeking a Transmission Line Quality Inspector to support an electrical utility transmission project. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and verifying that all construction activities meet project specifications, utility standards, safety requirements, and quality control procedures. This role is essential to ensuring that overhead transmission line construction is executed to the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections of transmission line construction, including foundations, structures, hardware, conductor installation, and grounding systems. Verify that work is performed according to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and utility requirements. Document inspection findings with detailed reports, photographs, and quality checklists. Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project schedules, safety protocols, and quality control measures. Identify and report deficiencies or non-conformance issues, and follow up on corrective actions. Coordinate with the construction manager, utility representatives, and contractor teams to resolve quality issues. Perform material inspections and verify proper handling, storage, and installation. Ensure adherence to OSHA, NESC, and utility-specific safety standards. Support commissioning and project closeout activities by reviewing as-built documentation and quality records. Qualifications

5+ years of experience in transmission line construction, inspection, or quality control (utility experience preferred). Strong knowledge of overhead transmission line components, installation methods, and industry standards. Familiarity with electrical utility quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) practices. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work packages. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites. OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training (preferred). Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in both office and outdoor construction environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. Ability to walk, climb, and stand for extended periods in rugged terrain. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Details
