As a Senior IT Email Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our organization's Proofpoint cybersecurity and email protection software.

This includes configuring and managing the software to protect our email system and data from cyber threats such as spam, phishing, and malware.

We are seeking an experienced email engineer that has experience with Proofpoint, AWS Mail Manager, Lotus Notes, and MS365 email platforms.The successful candidate will join the Collaboration Services engineering team to help move The Hartford’s email applications to modern delivery using AWS Mail Manager and integrating workflows with Exchange online. This is a full-time, direct hire position. As an email engineer, we are looking for 3 – 5 years experience administering a Proofpoint email delivery system, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our organization's Proofpoint cybersecurity and email protection software. This includes configuring, managing, and monitoring the software to protect our email system and data from cyber threats such as spam, phishing, and malware. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as an Office 365 Administrator and a strong background in cybersecurity, specifically in dealing with email and network security. You should also have experience working with email systems and security protocols and be comfortable working with a variety of tools and technologies. In addition to technical skills, we are looking for a team player who is able to work well in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position requires the candidate to consult regularly with internal and external customers on projects and email integrations. In addition to technical skills, we are looking for a team player who is able to work well in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders internal and external to the company



Attend client meetings and identify client business and technical requirements; evolving client understanding of products and services



Prepare solutions proposals to include products and consulting services for implementation



Develop technical design and reference architectures that ensure client data is protected and work with the engineering team to implement them



Lead POC with rigorous benchmarks on security technology innovations and adoptions



Plan, design, and architect on-prem and cloud security components; review the current state architecture looking for design flaws and advocate for stronger security control



Engage in continuous learning on new technologies and products, including R&D, and lab work



Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies to the requirements section



You should also have experience working with CoPilot, AI, and other automation tools to enhance the service and implement self-help solutions



Minimum of 10 years of IT professional experience in a large enterprise environment



Strong understanding of email delivery architecture, email gateway and DNS technologies



Strong understanding of networking, SMTP, DNS



The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as an Office 365 Administrator and a strong background in cybersecurity, specifically in dealing with email security



Minimum of 5 years of experience with email security solutions in large, distributed environments



Minimum of 5 years of experience working with email threat prevention platforms in complex email delivery systems



In-depth knowledge of DMARC, DKIM, and SPF



In-depth knowledge of email messaging systems, system administration in email gateways, either Proofpoint Email Security Platform, Microsoft Exchange, Cisco Ironport, AWS Mail Manager, or similar including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online



Proficient in the use of automation tools, configuration management solutions, dev-ops principles, and data analytics



Working experience integrating SaaS services and APIs



Familiarity with or exposure to cloud application development



Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks



Experience with cloud architecture



Linux appliance and server experience



Familiarity with Azure Platform, AzureAD, Azure MFA, Azure Graph API



Experience with High Availability Architecture of email delivery systems



Experience with continuous improvement processes



Experience with the Agile Development Methodology



Experience with sandbox technologies and platforms



Familiarity with scripting and using scripting languages (Python, Bash, Powershell, etc.); experience in Web development, and automated testing



Strong communication skills



Security and cloud certifications are a plus (CISSP, CCSP, Google Compute Platform, AWS, Azure, etc.)



At least 5 years of experience with LAN and WAN operations and administration, - "Hands on" experience in the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of a Notes/Domino Messaging infrastructure is required



Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines



Lotus Notes Domino Admin will undertake the following tasks in conjunction with other members of INT: - Support client's messaging platform consisting of Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino, and SMTP. - To be responsible for architectural development, planning, and implementation of the overall strategic goals of systems



Identify, evaluate, implement, and support related technologies such as but not limited to messaging web access, instant messaging, and collaboration and unified messaging



University degree in computer engineering, computer science or a closely related engineering field preferred



Provide support in the areas of Lotus software products standardization, leveraging of management and security features of new and existing products, application tuning, and capacity planning to a worldwide data center audience



Respond to requests from users (as Level 2 of the escalation procedures) and assist in deploying/configuring system



Provide resolution of more complex issues escalated from the support helpdesk and provide extra frontline support capacity as directed



This staff member will possibly be required to work or be on call on rotational basis at different times of the day or night to resolve problems



Perform other related duties as requiredThis role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
