Data Engineer
on the
Infrastructure Cognizance team , you’ll shape how data reveals the truth about infrastructure requests, deployments, and best practices. This new, high-priority project brings together multiple data sources to create a unified, real-time view of infrastructure health and compliance. You’ll work at the intersection of system design, analytics, and governance—ensuring the right people have the right insights at the right time. Your designs will directly influence how the organization detects issues, enforces standards, and optimizes operations across the enterprise.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
Design and maintain
schemas and data models
across
graph (Neo4j) ,
document (Elasticsearch) , and
relational (PostgreSQL)
databases
Build efficient data structures to
support analytics and investigative workflows
Optimize queries for performance, scalability, and responsiveness
Partner with analytics engineers to ensure
data supports mission-critical insights
Implement
governance and data quality rules
to ensure accuracy and compliance
Integrate feedback from multiple stakeholder groups to
iterate rapidly
on schema design and system performance
Support the development of alerting mechanisms that
flag discrepancies or violations
of best practices
Enable subject matter experts to visualize and act on key infrastructure data
Minimum Qualifications Clearance:
Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (required). Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and twelve (12) years of related experience
OR sixteen (16) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Required Skills
Proven experience working with
graph, document, and relational databases
Expertise in
schema design, query optimization, and analytics enablement
Strong ability to translate
analytical questions into database design solutions
Experience designing for
performance and scalability
in multi-database environments
Collaborative mindset and ability to work across technical and analytical teams
Desired Skills
Experience analyzing
cybersecurity-related data
(e.g., network traffic, OS events)
Familiarity with
SIGINT systems
and
CNO production environments
Broader software engineering experience (DevOps, ETL pipelines, or web apps)
Experience using
Git/GitLab
for version control
Knowledge of
Atlassian tools
(Jira, Confluence) for documentation and coordination
Compensation Range: $171,000.00 - $226,000.00 *The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role. Please note that this range is intended as a guideline and is subject to flexibility.
