Surgical Technician
Location:
VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) - Multiple Sites Contract Period:
Base Year + Three Option Years Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Hourly:
40.00/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Prepare and set up surgical instruments and sterile fields for procedures. Assist surgeons during procedures by handing instruments and supplies. Ensure all surgical equipment and materials are sterile and available for use. Monitor and maintain surgical environment safety and infection control measures. Handle and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Provide post-operative support, including cleaning and organizing surgical areas. Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited
Surgical Technician program . Minimum
one year of experience
as a Surgical Technician. Certification as a
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
preferred. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety. Ability to work efficiently in high-stress surgical environments.
