Backup/Storage Engineer
to join our team in Houston, TX. This role is critical for managing and evolving the firms backup and recovery infrastructure, with a primary focus on
Cohesity
(80%) and
Commvault
(20%). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data protection, replication, and recovery, combined with solid Linux and scripting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, large-scale production environment. Manage, monitor, and maintain the firms
backup and restore environment
using
Cohesity
and
Commvault .
Lead the
build-out of a new backup environment , including hardware/software configuration and optimization.
Configure and optimize
deduplication, replication, and backup policies
to meet project requirements.
Administer backups in a
Linux-based environment , ensuring high availability and recoverability of critical data.
Develop and maintain
scripts (Shell, Python)
to automate operational tasks and improve backup efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup and recovery issues in a
large-scale production environment .
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on
networking, firewall rules, and backup architecture .
Maintain documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years
of experience supporting backup and recovery systems in enterprise environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Cohesity ; Commvault experience is a plus.
Deep understanding of
deduplication, replication, backup, and restore processes .
Proficiency in
Linux administration
and working in command-line environments.
Good scripting skills
with Shell or Python to automate tasks and improve operational workflows.
Solid grasp of
networking concepts, firewall rules, and backup policy management .
Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in large, complex environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building out
new backup environments
from the ground up.
Industry certifications related to backup, storage, or cloud technologies are a plus.

This is a
100% onsite role in Houston, TX ; remote or hybrid options are not available.
