Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, staging, packing, and shipping. Ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely fulfillment of customer orders and internal production needs. This role leads and develops warehouse staff to achieve department goals, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold Subzero Engineering’s standards for safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures performance targets and budgets are met while supporting process optimization and driving cross‑functional collaboration throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse employees to meet daily operational goals and uphold company standards.
- Set priorities, monitor productivity, and ensure consistent communication across shifts.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote cross‑functional training to ensure flexibility and coverage across warehouse operations.
- Oversee daily warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, picking, staging, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility to support production schedules.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Production Planning to manage stock levels and reorder materials as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions within the ERP system (Infor preferred).
- Collaborate with internal departments to troubleshoot ERP or material flow issues.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine warehouse processes and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive initiatives to improve warehouse performance, space utilization, and material handling efficiency.
- Support Lean and 5S efforts to maintain an organized and safe workplace.
- Recommend and implement operational improvements that reduce cost and enhance throughput.
- Perform other related tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in warehouse management or materials management, demonstrating progressively responsible roles, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using ERP systems (INFOR preferred).
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proven ability to lead teams and achieve results through others.
- Demonstrated experience in managing forklift drivers, establishing an excellent safety record, and effectively managing labor costs in the process.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated success balancing safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
Safety Requirements
- Comply with all OSHA and company safety policies, procedures and requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions or practices that may adversely impact the environment.
- Attend scheduled safety training.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed safety goals and plans.
- Recommend improved safety practices.
- Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and PPE.
- Adhere to lockout procedures when equipment is cleaned or maintained.
Product Safety and Quality
- Support and comply with the company’s Integrated Management System, aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility by following established IMS procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Regular standing, walking, and occasional sitting throughout the shift.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required.
- Maintain unrestricted visual and auditory capabilities to ensure a safe work environment.
- Work primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing setting with occasional exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
