Category Development Lead is responsible for proactively identifying growth opportunities for company brands and respective categories at Target. The person will partner with company stakeholders and Target buying teams to bring shopper-centric thought-leadership that delivers actionable solutions. This position actively engages and builds relationships with multiple levels internally and externally. Effective time management, organization, and the ability to self-motivate are required to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. The Target Category Development Lead must possess and demonstrate an analytic aptitude, a high degree of proactiveness, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and operate with integrity. Provide category and shopper-centric analysis using multiple data points, including syndicated data, retailer portals, and custom research. Proactively identify trends and opportunities to drive category and company brand growth. Lead category reviews, develop assortment strategies, and conduct POG analysis with recommendations. Analyze and evaluate new item performance and promotional trends across categories. Track distribution and shelf space metrics for reporting. Support line reviews, annual customer planning, and monthly business reviews. Build strong customer relationships and explore category partnership opportunities. Partner with internal cross-functional teams to develop category strategies and stories across DSMP executions. Provide insights to support channel and customer-specific strategies. Share learnings and insights across teams to influence strategic planning. What Makes You a Good Fit

5+ years of client experience, including 2+ years in Category Management and/or Shopper Insights roles. B.S. or B.A. degree. Ability to influence decision-makers at all organizational levels. Proactive in identifying insights and translating them into actionable retailer stories. Strong analytical skills with experience in consumer/shopper insights and syndicated data (IRI/Circana required, Numerator preferred, Vendor IQ a plus). Proficiency in Office applications; Power BI experience is a plus. Experience with Space Management applications is a plus. Excellent communication and project management skills.
