Position Overview
Join CASL as a Receptionist and become the first friendly face that connects our diverse community to life‑changing programs and services. Your mission is to greet visitors, answer inquiries, direct individuals to appropriate departments, and maintain a welcoming environment while supporting administrative tasks and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Client and visitor engagement – greet and direct guests, gather information, ensure a welcoming experience.
- Phone and communication management – answer, screen, and forward calls; provide accurate info via phone, email, or in person.
- Maintain reception area – keep the front desk safe, tidy, and comfortable.
- Mail management – record outgoing mail and sort incoming mail for timely distribution.
- Information distribution – organize display racks and handouts so visitors have program info.
- Department communication – coordinate with departments to share program events and information.
- Administrative support – perform clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, sorting, and other requested tasks.
- Security and safety – comply with procedures, monitor visitor logbook, and support safety protocols.
- Documentation and reporting – document actions or irregularities to ensure smooth operations.
- Directory management – maintain and update the company directory.
What You Bring
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1–3 years of reception or customer service experience; hospitality background is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, or Toishanese).
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to high‑quality, client‑centered service with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain an organized reception area while handling multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to monitor and maintain security at the front desk.
Physical Demands
- Remain stationary (sitting or standing) for extended periods; occasional movement and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Environment and Scheduling
- Standard business hours, Monday to Friday (7 am‑7 pm); no more than 8 hours per day, minimum 30 hours a week, with flexibility for additional hours including weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
