This leadership role is responsible for daily operations, maintaining sound financial systems, ensuring accurate reporting, and guiding the organization through audits and process improvements. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll support executive decision-making with clear financial analysis while building and leading a capable accounting team that upholds our core values. Key Responsibilities Lead accounting functions including A/R, A/P, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Manage audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Develop and implement internal controls, financial systems, and reporting procedures Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic planning Prepare internal dashboards and executive reporting packages Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team with clear accountability and high standards Collaborate across departments to align financial decisions with business goals Foster a culture of professional, candid communication where facts and data drive decisions Training & Ramp-Up We’ve designed a clear onboarding plan to set you up for success: First 60 days: Learn our products, systems (Sage/QuickBooks), and core AP/AR processes First 90 days: Take ownership of collections, monthly reconciliations, and internal reporting By 6 months: Lead audits, multi-entity filings, and year-end close while improving financial systems This structured progression ensures you’re supported as you transition into full leadership responsibility. Core Competencies Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and compliance Leadership: Builds an empowered team and sets high standards Strategic Thinking: Connects financial goals to company-wide initiatives Accuracy & Detail: Delivers timely, precise financial reports Communication: Explains complex financial data clearly to non-financial leaders Problem Solving: Anticipates risks and designs systems to reduce them Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 6+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a controller or senior financial leadership role Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles Proficiency with financial software / ERP systems (Sage or QuickBooks preferred) Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills Proven leadership and team development ability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to strategize, solve problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment Pre-employment requirements: background check and drug screening Why Work With Us One Team.
