Overview

Summary: Store Workers serve in one or more commissary store departments (e.g., grocery, produce, warehouse, etc.) performing duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying, and maintaining the stock of resale items.

This is an open-continuous announcement with an initial cut-off date 30 days after the open date of the announcement. Please see the How You Will Be Evaluated section for more information.

Duties

  • Maintaining adequate stock of resale items.
  • Identifying obvious spoilage, damage, and out-of-date merchandise.
  • Receiving supplies, equipment and resale items.
  • Operating a computer system that calculates and marks prices, and determines weights of merchandise.
  • Transporting items to shelving and display areas.

Requirements

Conditions of employment

  • Be a U.S. citizen or national. Permanent residents are authorized to live and work in the U.S. but not eligible for employment in positions requiring U.S. citizenship. If selected, proof of citizenship is required.

Qualifications

You must meet qualifications and requirements by the closing date. Your resume should show your specific knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position in relation to each element being measured.

  • Ensuring the proper care and handling of resale grocery items.
  • Locating items for customers.
  • Rotating stock, stacking containers, and participating in inventories.
  • Operating a computer system to calculate prices and label merchandise.
  • Arranging stock on shelves and in displays.

Physical requirements: (1) Continuously walk, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach. (2) Lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.

Open-Continuous Cut-off Information

An initial cut-off date of 30 days after the open date of the announcement will be used to evaluate candidates for the initial available vacancies.
