Position Overview The Shift Manager Cage directs and supervises Cage personnel during a specified shift, ensuring all accounting activities in the Cage/Credit Department are performed accurately and efficiently in compliance with applicable laws, gaming regulations, and company policies.
Essential Functions
Approves check cashing requests within a specified amount.
Manages and maintains custody of coin, currency, checks and records of cage transactions on shift.
ves credit for guests within his/her limits of authority, ensuring accurate, efficient and discreet handling of credit information.
Develops, implements and directs departmental procedures to improve Cage/Credit Department effectiveness.
Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced by employees under his/her span of control.
Monitors all financial activities related to the Cage/Credit Department, enforcing applicable laws and regulations.
Creates and administers departmental operating budget and controls.
Establishes production standards and goals, and evaluates departmental progress, revising standards and goals as needed.
Coordinates audits of bankboards, guest deposits and rotation logs, ensuring appropriate coverage on each bank.
Reviews departmental reports for accuracy, making revisions as needed.
Ensures maximum level of property‑wide service and satisfaction for Cage/Credit Department.
Facilitates information flow by organizing and presiding over meetings with all employees under his/her span of control.
Authorizes Credit in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
Assists in training, staffing and evaluation of cage personnel.
Assumes full responsibility for the cage in the absence of the Cage Manager.
Maintains strict confidentiality of internal activities.
Ensures compliance with AML regulations.
Ensures compliance with company policies and gaming regulations.
Maintains meticulous security of keys, radios and devices issuing by the department, complying with safety standards.
Administers supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company and department policies.
Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring and counseling for personnel.
Facilitates and ensures performance reviews of all employees within the department are completed on a yearly basis.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

Ability to complete basic mathematical computations.

Availability to work various shifts with multiple start times.
Must be able to bend and twist.
Must be able to perform opening, dropping, filling, closing and maintenance of all equipment utilized by the cage operations.
Have a complete understanding of departmental, company and NY State Gaming Commission rules and regulations that apply to the position.
Knowledge / Work Experience
Must be 21 years or older.
High School Graduate or GED.
Five (5) years of progressive banking experience, preferably in a gaming environment with three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
Must be able to obtain and retain a NY State Gaming Commission License.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability Ability to compute mathematical calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to decipher reports and maintain reports upon request with strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
