Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR Inspections
FAR Inspections is looking for motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn full-time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. No experience with mortgage field inspections is required, but you must effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Conduct exterior inspections typically 5–6 minutes about10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy using industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile application.
Dedicate extended periods of driving, making numerous stops throughout the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with an internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume, but you will earn the equivalent of
$30–$40 per hour . Depending on the county—urban or rural—you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
