This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC.

Job Purpose The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all products consistently meet defined specifications, actively promoting a Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) mindset.

Develop and sustain / foster a Problem-solving culture.

Solid Problem-Solving skills a must, experience in 8D, Shainin Red-X or similar preferred.

Lead Quality event Root Cause/Corrective Action investigation and timely resolution.

Develop, mentor, and empower a growing team responsible for internal quality assurance, process improvement, and supplier and customer quality management.

Develop, utilize, and maintain critical quality documentation, including Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Plans, and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs). Lead internal training sessions on these processes.

Evaluate quality requirements and develop or revise quality system documentation as needed.

Compile, organize, and present technical data and quality reports to senior management and customers to drive process improvements.

Conduct regular internal audits and Quality Management Reviews.

Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party auditors.

Create, maintain, and regularly publish Quality Metrics, initiating appropriate corrective actions as required.

Develop and implement structured continuous improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Value Stream Mapping to identify inefficiencies and drive sustainable improvements across manufacturing and administrative processes.

Lead cross-functional teams to proactively identify, evaluate, and implement best practices for process standardization and waste reduction, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer expectations.

Willingness to travel as circumstances require, up to 20%.

Communicate to the upper management and stakeholders on deliverables.

Drive initiatives based on the Voice of the Customer.

Partner with the Manufacturing team to drive robust Quality objectives.

Identify opportunities for business operational efficiency and drive to specific metrics for business cost saving and value realization.

Own the Quality Dashboard and reviews including communication of KPI’s to leadership.

Monitor and improve KPI and customer satisfaction and feedback.

Ensure that systems, processes, and methodologies specified are followed and ensure effective monitoring, control, and support of Quality requirements.

Responsible for Quality and Measurement Lab.

Partner with Supplier Quality to drive resolution of supplier Quality issues.

What we’re looking for Education / Experience Qualifications

BS in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent

Minimum 10 years working in manufacturing large industrial products (assemblies) including 5 years of Quality Assurance experience

Proven leadership skills

Minimum two years as a Manager of People

Business analytical skills confirmed by working experience preferred, in SAP ERP, Power BI or equivalent

Knowledge

Excellent organization skills allowing the coordination of multi-faceted QA activities.

Regulatory & compliance standards as applicable to the QMS

Strong business acumen

Extensive knowledge of quality management systems and quality improvement tools and techniques

Working knowledge of UL standards, practices and guidelines sufficient to advise and guide managers and supervisors as they implement and maintain accreditation.

Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and communications skills needed to interface with all levels of the organization

Strong customer management skills and ability to understand and translate and define complex business requirements

Experienced in problem solving, and functional & technical specification design

Attention to detail and ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools

Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as part of a diverse team

Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and manage changing priorities

Ability to publicly represent the company and department with internal and external clients

Ability to use own judgment and initiative in problem resolution

Salary Range $122,800 - $168,850
