What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented technician with hands‑on chemistry lab experiences to join the team. This candidate will be a key member of a materials development and evaluation team, focused on developing innovative cell products to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. A person in this role should expect to conduct testing daily on a variety of materials which will be reported to engineers for analysis.
What You'll Do
Perform powder materials characterization and chemical testing, including SEM, PSD, XRD, particle size analysis, tap density, moisture content, acid base titration, TGA, etc.
Electrochemical characterization of powder materials by electrode synthesis and assembly of lithium‑ion cell prototype coin cells
Routine analytical instruments operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
Assist in the optimization of testing parameters and development of new methods for application
Communicate with engineers and technicians working on various projects requiring the characterization results and provide feedback on analytical data quality and reliability
What You'll Bring
Technical background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science/metallurgy
Hands‑on experience working in chemistry labs
Willingness to learn quickly and work efficiently to meet target goals
Meticulous attitude towards data tracking, observation, and communicating with others
Willingness to collaborate and take on challenges in unfamiliar areas
Ability to stay engaged while doing repetitive tasks

Expected Compensation $28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
