This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver exceptional service to clients across a broad range of water‑related projects, including fisheries, hydropower, dams, flood control, and water treatment.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships; participate in professional service organizations and attend conferences/events.
Identify project opportunities and prepare proposals; consult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their water resource needs.
Conduct kick‑off meetings with stakeholders to announce project start, review plans, and gain consensus.
Identify high‑level risks, assumptions, and constraints; document them using historical data and expert judgement.
Manage changes to scope, schedule, and cost using appropriate verification techniques to keep the plan accurate.
Set expectations in alignment with the Project Plan and ensure stakeholder understanding.
Effectively manage multi‑discipline teams for a wide range of water resources projects and tasks.
Measure project performance, identify variances, and perform corrective actions as needed.
Execute tasks defined in the project plan to achieve project goals.
Define roles and responsibilities, create an organization structure, and develop a communication plan.
Implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate project risk events.
Improve team performance through cohesion, mentoring, and training.
Evaluate and design water infrastructure projects, including treatment and distribution facilities.
Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects such as pipeline storage and pump stations.
Prepare or oversee planning reports, specification documents, and cost estimates for water, recycled water, and wastewater projects.
Manage planning, design, and construction support services for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Design storm water management systems for water quality and quantity control.
Prepare drainage, soil erosion, sediment control, utility relocation, right‑of‑way, staging, and construction plans for water resources and transportation projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
Master's degree preferred.
18+ years of experience in civil and/or hydraulic engineering.
Professional Engineering registration required; California PE registration strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with water resource infrastructure, including fisheries projects, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and pump stations.
Familiarity with federal agency codes and requirements, including FERC, USACE, and USBR.
Compensation Package
Pay Range: $154,000 – $230,000 (DOE)
