Description

Under supervision, performs and records all sonographic procedures and assists with some specialty procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the exam accordingly to ensure complete and accurate high quality information is obtained. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Troubleshoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Participates in performance improvement projects within the department. Floats within department as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties are to be performed at a Practitioner Level. Floats to specialty unit if qualified. Assists with mentoring of junior ultrasound technologists and students as needed. Assists other ultrasound technologists with difficult procedures that require advanced skills.
