Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Trust & Safety - USDS
The USDS TikTok Product Engineering SRE team works with engineering and product teams to build, maintain and run large‑scale, globally distributed, observable, fault‑tolerant systems. SREs on this team will deliver on production ownership and be responsible for observability and automation across complex, large‑scale service mesh architectures.
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day operations of data service, realtime/batch data pipelines, including SLA management, system deployment, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Create tools and automation to improve system administration and operation efficiency.
Participate in regular on‑call duties.
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design through development, capacity planning, launch reviews, deployment, operation and refinement.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms such as automation; evolve system reliability, efficiency and velocity by pushing for changes.
Practice sustainable user support, incident response and postmortems.
Qualifications
Bachelor or above degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.
At least 5+ years of industrial experience.
Demonstrated independent thinking capabilities and troubleshooting skills.
Experience programming in Python, Go, C, C++, Java or Rust.
Familiar with backend systems such as MySQL, Redis, Nginx, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Hive, OLAP, ClickHouse.
Familiar with Unix/Linux system internals, networking and distributed systems.
Good communication and coordination skills.
