Senior Attorney – Patent Group (Denver / Seattle)
Dorsey & Whitney LLP seeks a senior patent attorney with at least five years of experience to join the Patent Group in Denver or Seattle. Candidates should have a technical background in software, electrical technologies—including circuit and logic designs, semiconductor structures and fabrication processes, and artificial intelligence. The role involves an active docket of patent prosecution matters, drafting applications, domestic and foreign prosecution, counseling clients on patent strategy, conducting searches, preparing opinions, and participating in post‑grant activities at the USPTO. Additionally, opportunities exist to support litigation and transactional practices, and depending on experience, client‑management responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications
At least five years of patent attorney experience, including application drafting and prosecution.
USPTO admission.
Washington or Colorado bar admission, or willingness to obtain admission.
B.S. and/or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Strong academic performance and writing ability.
Compensation (Seattle only) The salary range for Seattle applicants is $200,000 – $300,000, with additional contingent compensation based on experience. Pay is determined by a variety of factors.
