Job Description TD Securities offers a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, financial sponsor and institutional clients. The firm focuses on key financial centers including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London and Singapore. The Syndicated and Leveraged Finance function is an integral part of our Investment Banking suite, providing clients with capital markets and banking advice, transaction execution, and credit and investment banking expertise.
Position
Work with deal teams and clients to provide expertise on credit ratings methodologies and advise on deal structuring for credit rating optimization.
Initially partner with senior Ratings Advisory team members; progress to producing independent rating opinions and leading corporate ratings mandates for TD’s clients.
Position Summary
Provides ratings indications on unrated issuers and analyzes rating implications of capital structure and strategic changes on rated issuers.
Advises on and reviews rating‑specific content for client and ratings agency presentations.
Keeps abreast of market and rating agency developments, producing thematic ratings‑focused materials for clients and internal stakeholders.
Develops and maintains ratings‑focused internal models and templates.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders such as external clients, ratings agency personnel and internal constituents.
Assists with and eventually leads the ratings‑related workstream of deal execution.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience at a credit ratings agency or in a corporate/investment banking role.
Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills.
Excellent communication skills with ability to interact effectively with senior professionals, clients and stakeholders.
Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions.
Adaptability and ability to manage projects independently.
Series 7 and 79 licenses.
Education & Experience
Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.
Series 7, 79 and 63 licenses.
5–7 years of related experience.
