Overview We are seeking a

Cloud Systems Engineer

to support the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) as part of a dynamic, mission‑driven team. This engineer will play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting secure, agile solutions that enable ODNI to execute its intelligence integration and national security mission. The position offers the opportunity to work across classified environments, contribute to enterprise transformation, and help implement next‑generation capabilities aligned with ODNI's modernization priorities.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage IaaS/PaaS solutions across AWS GovCloud and Azure environments.

Integrate cloud environments with ODNI’s Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Identity & Access Management (ICAM) policies.

Design, provision, and manage secure AWS GovCloud/C2S environments including VPCs, EC2, IAM, S3, and encrypted networking aligned with ODNI Zero Trust and ICAM policies.

Support provisioning of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) instances and secure VDI environments.

Collaborate with cybersecurity and DevOps teams to implement compliant baselines and secure cloud automation.

Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and auditability in a classified setting.

Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code and continuous compliance using CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, and AWS Config/Security Hub to support automated, audit‑ready cloud operations.

Required Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).

Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Understanding of Zero Trust principles, ICAM, and enclave‑level data security.

Familiarity with secure VDI deployment (AVD, Citrix).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, or systems engineering.

Experience supporting ATO/ICD 503 compliance in a classified environment.

Familiarity with Azure Government or C2S enclaves.

Experience in hybrid or multi‑cloud orchestration at scale.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Location: Bethesda, MD. Occasional travel within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Type of environment: Varies.

Noise level: Low.

Work schedule: Normal work hours (0600‑1800, Monday‑Friday, excluding Federal holidays); may be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.

Amount of travel: 10%.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, touch; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

U.S. Citizenship.

Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.

Wage Information Target salary range: $125,000.00 – $157,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
