Vice President of Manufacturing
Pay & Compensation Base Pay Range:
$255,000.00 – $315,000.00 per year.
Additional Compensation:
Annual Bonus and RSUs.
Education & Technical Skills
Education:
BS/BA in an Engineering discipline, Business Administration, or related field.
Certifications:
APICS and/or CPIM certification.
Systems:
Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
Methodologies:
Practical, applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Dual-Focus Leadership:
Proven track record of balancing strategic executive duties with hands‑on operational management. Must demonstrate a history of being a visible leader, not just a desk‑bound administrator.
Industry Expertise:
Extensive experience in the food & beverage industry manufacturing with deep technical process knowledge.
Tenure:
3+ years of Director-level experience leading site-wide activities and 10+ years of total operations experience, including scheduling, maintenance, and logistics.
Floor-Ready Communication:
Ability to convey mission and strategy effectively to the executive board and equally effectively to hourly machine operators.
Root Cause Analyst:
A practical problem solver who can drill down to the root cause of technical issues on the spot.
Change Agent:

Role Summary The Vice President of Manufacturing serves as the primary operational strategist and tactical leader for a large-scale, high-volume manufacturing facility. This role requires a dynamic "working leader" who can seamlessly toggle between high-level strategic planning and hands‑on shop floor execution. The VP will maintain a visible presence in production areas, driving culture and problem‑solving at the source, while simultaneously shaping the long‑term operational vision to meet business growth, safety, and quality objectives.
Core Responsibilities Strategic Vision & Business Alignment
Long-Term Planning:
Develop and drive the comprehensive plant agenda, aligning manufacturing capabilities with broader business goals, capital planning, and organizational growth.
Organizational Design:
Optimize the organizational structure for different business unit sectors to ensure scalability, and optimize workforce planning to meet fluctuating seasonal and market demands.
Cross-Functional Integration:
Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Finance, and Logistics to align operational capacity with the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) strategy.
Tactical Execution & Shop Floor Leadership
Active Floor Presence:
Champion a "boots on the ground" leadership style. Spend significant time on the production floor to audit processes, identify bottlenecks in real-time, and engage directly with line staff and supervisors.
Day-to-Day Operations:
Lead the daily production rhythm, ensuring immediate resolution of operational variances, equipment downtime, or scheduling conflicts to meet daily output targets.
Crisis Management:
Serve as the primary escalation point for technical and operational issues, utilizing root-cause analysis to solve immediate problems while preventing recurrence.
Staff Mentorship:
Directly guide and support supervisors and staff members, modeling desired behaviors and ensuring adherence to schedules and performance standards.
Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance
Continuous Improvement:
Partner with the Sr. Director of Continuous Improvement to drive a culture of Lean Manufacturing. Move beyond theory to practically apply Six Sigma, Kanban, and standard work tools on the line.
KPI Stewardship:
rigorous management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Translate high-level metrics into actionable daily goals for floor teams.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure absolute adherence to safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and environmental regulations, holding all levels of the organization accountable.
Product Lifecycle & Budgeting
Launch Execution:
Oversee the physical implementation of line extensions and new product launches, ensuring that factory-floor readiness aligns with launch schedules.
Financial Management:
Own the manufacturing budget, balancing daily operational costs with long-term fiscal efficiency.
