Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical function.
5+years of director-level leadership experience in technical services within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
10+years of experience in plant manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering leadership roles.
MRP/ERP systems and strong financial acumen in managing operational budgets.
Hands‑on understanding of PLCs and controls for high-speed manufacturing equipment.
HACCP, food safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
Analytical thinker with proven ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Lean tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, pull systems, Kanban, process mapping, and standard work.
Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable improvements and achieving challenging operational results.
Summary The Vice President of Technical Services will lead the technical functions that support manufacturing reliability and overall plant performance. This role oversees engineering, automation, utilities, wastewater operations, maintenance, and spare parts/MRO inventory management. The successful candidate will bring strong technical depth, influential leadership, and a proven ability to drive equipment uptime, optimize repair costs, and deliver peak operational efficiency. This leader is also accountable for ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and consistent quality across all technical services activities.
Responsibilities Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead the technical services organization across engineering, automation, utilities, and maintenance.
Develop and mentor engineers, technicians, and staff across direct and indirect functions.
Optimize organizational structure to support strategic and operational objectives.
Create a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence & Reliability
Establish and implement a comprehensive TPM program in partnership with key cross‑functional stakeholders.
Set and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, quality standards, and performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement using data‑driven analysis and structured problem‑solving tools.
Accelerate Lean manufacturing practices within the technical services function.
Maintenance, MRO, & Automation
Oversee MRO management, including planning, budgeting, inventory accuracy, and cost control.
Ensure effective use of automation, controls, and manufacturing engineering resources to reduce downtime.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of PLCs, logic controls, and high-speed production systems.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Support plant performance initiatives in coordination with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
Partner closely with senior operations leadership on initiatives critical to plant transformation and long‑term capability building.
Ensure timely execution and communication across all technical service teams.
Capital Projects & Infrastructure
Lead long‑term capital planning and execution within the scope of technical services.
Oversee major infrastructure initiatives, including utilities, wastewater systems, and process upgrades.
Ensure projects meet schedule, safety, quality, and budget expectations.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with regulatory, environmental, and quality requirements.
Maintain robust food safety systems, including HACCP and related standards.
Oversee adherence to operational policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and quality protocols.
