Behavior Health Counselor Location: San Francisco, CA | Work Style: Fully Remote | Full Time (20%)

Job Summary Under the supervision of Dr. Mason, the behavioral health counselor will perform clinical interviews to determine eligibility for the SLEEPS Study, a remote treatment study for insomnia. The interview protocol includes the Quick Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (QuickSCID) and the Structured Clinical Interview for Sleep Disorders (SCISD). The counselor will follow manualized protocols for screening interviews and occasionally attend study meetings via Zoom.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Salary Range: $94,400/year - $148,100/year.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical interviews using QuickSCID and SCISD protocols to screen candidates.

Follow manualized protocols for screening interviews.

Attend study meetings via Zoom as required.

Accurately complete pre-, mid-, and post-interview documentation.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, psychology, family counseling, or related area or equivalent experience.

Completion of clinical interviewing practica as part of graduate training or working as a clinical interviewer for other clinical research studies (minimum 1 year).

Licensed in behavioral health counseling discipline.

Minimum 3+ years of directly related experience.

Thorough knowledge, understanding, and experience in the administration of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 (SCID-5).

Thorough knowledge of assessment for suicidal ideation and safety planning.

Highly effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent documentation skills related to pre-, mid-, and post-clinical interview administration.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the administration of the Structured Clinical Interview for Sleep Disorders (SCISD).

Experience in the administration of the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C‑SSRS).

License/Certification Licensed in behavioral health counseling discipline (required).
