Key Responsibilities
Supervision of Grunley employees, including coordination of work for all field staff and direct oversight of foremen, field engineers, assistant superintendents, and other superintendents.
Subcontractor management: coordinate activities, direct subcontractor foremen, and ensure alignment with project goals.
Schedule management: develop the baseline schedule, update monthly, maintain a two‑week look‑ahead, and keep the project on track.
Inspections: conduct daily inspections to identify potential issues, develop resolutions, and implement the Quality Control Program.
Temporary construction material procurement: estimate needs, order, maintain inventories, and contract purchasing.
Equipment management: determine needs, schedule requirements, negotiate competitive rental prices, and manage equipment acquisition and termination.
Safety: perform safety inspections, conduct weekly toolbox talks, verify the MSDDS system, and ensure appropriate safety signage.
Field office operations: prepare daily reports, timesheets, purchase orders, and maintain the purchase order log.
Drawings: maintain and post drawings in a timely manner.
Training: provide on‑the‑job training, attend and instruct in Grunley training programs.
Requirements
Required Education
HS Diploma or G.E.D.
Required Experience
Minimum ten (10) years as a Superintendent with strong leadership skills.
Required Certifications
OSHA 10
CPR Certified
First Aid Certified (current or obtain before project start)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
General knowledge of all trades and ability to forecast and execute activities within the project schedule.
Excellent communication skills with co‑workers, owners, owner representatives, and tenants.
Capacity to learn new technical and non‑technical information and apply it in the field within short time frames.
