The MEP Coordinator ensures that subcontractors provide the highest quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction services in accordance with project-specific cost and schedule requirements. Reports to: Project Executive. Requirements
Required Education Bachelor's degree: Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Vocational Training Required Experience Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction procedures and practices. This position requires a successful track record in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction. Responsibilities / Duties
Planning: As it pertains to MEP trades – Achieve a detailed understanding of the:
Contract documents (drawings and specifications) Phasing plans MEP systems interrelationships Construction sequencing Project schedule
Coordination:
Lead the coordination drawings process and facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP subcontractors during the coordination drawings process. Validate design issues and develop suggested alternative solutions before forwarding them to the PM.
Assistance to design and construction team as appropriate:
Assist the design team in resolution of MEP issues. Assist PM in receipt and review of MEP submittals. Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings. Assist PM with scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change order work.
Supervision:
Supervise the installation of MEP work, and other work as deemed appropriate by management. Lead periodic (as warranted by the job) on site coordination meetings with the subcontractors’ foremen. Participate in all meetings conducted by the Superintendent with foremen.
