Overview HJF is seeking an experienced and innovative Training Specialist I - Total Force Fitness (TFF) Operations and Strategy Educator to develop and refine comprehensive training programs for the implementation and management of Total Force Fitness in holistic training and curriculum. This role will involve creating educational curricula covering a wide range of topics, including leadership principles such as briefing, decision making, and assessments, as well as physical and mental fitness, ensuring the integration of holistic training principles into daily activities, and providing technical support. They will support outreach efforts across the DoW to assess best practices and share CHAMP’s education team's work. This position will be in support of the Advanced Research for Military Optimization, Readiness, and Rehabilitation (ARMORR) and the Consortium for Health and Military Performance (CHAMP) under the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

Serves as a scientific resource and subject matter expert on Total Force Fitness for CHAMP and the DoW at large. Reviews and translates literature/information/trends and translates into educational materials articles, videos, graphics, worksheets, curricula, etc). Evaluates the significance of new directions and emerging trends to optimize performance in accordance with DoW missions and objectives. Utilize this research to develop new and update existing content on CHAMP’s educational websites.

Oversee the design, development, and delivery of innovative HPO training, both in-person and virtual. Incorporate evidence-based research and emerging trends in human performance, health, and cognitive science into training and curriculum design. Ensure training content is adaptive to diverse learning styles. Regularly review and update training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

Develop and deliver presentations, training, curricula and workshops to DoW stakeholders on Total Force Fitness content that is evidence-based and military specific. Presentations are in person, virtual, and/or recorded.

Sustain relationships with DoW stakeholders to inform the creation and dissemination of materials. Engage in outreach efforts to increase the DoW and professional communities’ awareness of program’s resources.

Lead and facilitate human performance optimization on-site training efforts. Provides quality control feedback to clients and other staff members on training performance.

Translate complex Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) governance, program management, and leadership education concepts into clear, effective, and engaging learning content for various audiences.

Coordinate with team members to ensure a cohesive approach to content production.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Proven experience in training and curriculum development, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles.

Experience with program evaluation and sustainability planning.

Demonstrated experience in conducting training in various environments (in-person, recorded, and virtual).

Knowledge of Army strategy and operations, Army doctrine, Army’s H2F program, FM 7-0, and Leader Training Brigade policy is preferred.

Experience in military health and fitness programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees and management. Ability to work independently as well as partner effectively in a team environment.

Strong analytical, problem solving and customer service skills, with a focus on relationship management and customer satisfaction.

Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.

Ability to support several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive), MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Learning Management System (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).

Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust clearance.

Physical Capabilities

Lifting: Requires lifting materials over 25 lbs.

Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

This position is primarily telework and will require travel.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$87,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
