Physical - Sedentary work, proficient in using a PC keyboard and computer.
Working Hours - full-time (40+ hrs/week) employment
Personal Traits - Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with various department personnel and supervisors. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Director of Purchasing manages all aspects of purchasing including contract negotiation while providing support to and enabling the success of production planning and scheduling, inventory, material control, shipping and receiving. This position is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies and plans to meet company's short-term and long-term supply chain management goals. Responsibilities include strategic negotiations with suppliers, optimizing the supply base, establishing Long Term Agreements (LTA) with suppliers, ensuring Supplier performance, providing leadership to the Materials Management teams to ensure material needs are met, the cost of material is controlled, and customers receive product on time.
Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationship with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and service standards are met.
Negotiate contracts and LTAs with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Direct and oversee the procurement budget, ensuring all purchasing activities meet financial targets and contribute to the organization's financial health.
Lead, train, and develop the materials management staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Analyze market trends and delivery systems to assess present and future material availably and pricing.
Monitor and analyze company purchasing trends to forecast future needs
Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable regulations and laws, and track and report metrics related to purchasing.

Education and Experience
BS degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field. At least 5 years management experience. A master's degree is preferred. At least 8 years relevant work experience in procurement or supply chain management with a proven track record of managing purchasing activities on a large scale. Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management preferred (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, ISM or CPSM).
