What You’ll Do

Lead strategic growth and drive HDR’s global market share and revenue.

Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, understanding their goals and aligning HDR capabilities to meet their needs.

Lead major pursuits and campaigns, developing winning strategies and guiding proposal efforts.

Collaborate with market and operations leadership to define and support regional strategic plans.

Mentor and train business development teams, fostering a culture of client focus and strategic thinking.

Ensure the right talent and expertise are matched to client needs and growth opportunities, helping HDR attract great people.

What You Bring

Achieve global booking goals for the Waste Sector.

Manage regional waste business development leaders.

Maintain a strong understanding of waste market trends and drivers.

In partnership with the Waste Sector Director, create and implement vision and strategic initiatives within company direction.

Oversee annual and long‑term strategic plans, including growth initiatives and investment priorities.

Lead major pursuit teams and capture‑planning activities.

Identify and recruit talent for management, technical, business development, and marketing positions.

Develop training on business development best practices in coordination with RBG BDDs.

Develop long‑term client plans and manage significant waste sector accounts.

Build relationships with teaming partners and actively participate in professional associations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Professional or engineering registration or certificate, or related technical experience.

Demonstrated experience winning high‑value contracts in the waste industry.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience.

Self‑starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.

Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s procurement practices for professional services.

Proven ability to motivate and inspire others.

Proven ability to build a network of clients and industry partners.

Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.

Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Willingness and ability to travel and engage in person.

Experience growing programs in new or highly competitive markets.

Experience writing compelling content based on technical staff information.

Benefits and Compensation Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, paid time away, parental leave, paid holidays, a retirement savings plan with employer match, employee referral bonus, and tuition reimbursement. The targeted salary range for this position is $167,580 – $277,200, dependent on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

Location Primary location: United States – Nebraska – Omaha. Other eligible locations: United States – Texas – Round Rock, United States – North Carolina – Charlotte, United States – Minnesota – Saint Louis Park, United States – Pennsylvania – Bethlehem, United States – Oregon – Salem, United States – Maryland – Baltimore, and many additional U.S. locations.
