Faculty Rank: Tenure‑track Assistant Professor. Work Status: Full‑time (12‑month appointment). Location: Troy – T01.

Job Summary The Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology at Troy University invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Anthropology/Archaeology Lab Coordinator position to begin August 01, 2026. The position has a 2/2 teaching load for the academic year, with teaching split evenly between in‑person and online formats.

Responsibilities include teaching archaeologically focused courses half‑time and dedicating half‑time to managing the Archaeology lab. Lab duties include artifact processing and cataloging, curating archaeological collections in compliance with state and federal regulations, and training students in archaeological laboratory and field methods.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in anthropology or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution (ABD and near graduation will also be considered).

Ability to teach both face‑to‑face and online environments.

Demonstrated scholarly research, publication record, and capacity to secure grant funding in the area of specialization.
