Preference will be given to candidates with scholarly expertise in the digital humanities and/or artificial intelligence; expertise in creative writing or the intersections between literature and professional disciplines such as medicine or law would also be welcome. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate survey courses and graduate seminars on British literature from 1776–1832. They will also be expected to teach other courses focused on their period of specialization and to contribute to the department’s intellectual life by pursuing an active research agenda; teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; directing dissertations; and serving on departmental, college, and/or university committees. We seek candidates with varied scholarly interests whose teaching and research interests intersect with the work of other faculty in English and elsewhere in the College of Arts and Sciences.
