Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology – Tenure-Track Position begins August 2026. The role is a nine‑month appointment with annual review; it includes teaching responsibilities (in‑person and online) with possible summer teaching.

Responsibilities

Engage in quantitative analysis of criminal justice policy issues, including social network analysis, spatial analysis, and causal analysis.

Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (in‑person and online).

Contribute to the department’s research and service missions, including collaboration with federal, state, and local partners.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a substantively relevant field (ABD may apply, but degree must be received by start of employment).

Comprehensive criminal background check required.

Preferred Qualifications

University teaching experience.

Demonstrated record of publication.

Capacity for funded research.

Location & Work Hours The position is located on the Atlanta campus of Georgia State University and requires on‑campus, in‑person work. The Andrew Young School maintains a flexible work environment.
