About the Role The Vice President of Taxation and Compliance will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the company's tax compliance and reporting functions. This strategic leadership position requires a visionary adept at navigating complex tax landscapes while optimizing financial outcomes. The role will be responsible for driving tax planning initiatives to fortify our fiscal position, ensuring meticulous compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks and harnessing tax efficiencies to propel organizational growth. This includes managing tax planning strategies, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and identifying opportunities for tax optimization. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, external auditors, and tax authorities to maintain the company’s tax compliance posture.
Location: Must be local to Dallas, TX area
What You Will Do
Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities while maximizing its financial performance. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax optimization.
Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in tax reporting while minimizing the risk of audits or penalties.
Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to accurately reflect tax implications in financial statements and disclosures. Provide insights and analysis on tax‑related matters to support financial reporting requirements.
Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Coordinate responses to audit requests and provide necessary documentation to support the company’s tax positions.
Risk Management: Identify and assess tax risks associated with business operations and transactions. Develop and implement controls to mitigate tax‑related risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high‑performing tax team, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as needed. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; master’s degree or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporate tax environment.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compensation: The base salary range is $220,000-250,000 USD annually. Salary rates are based on experience, skills, and geographical location.
