Position Summary
PTM Bio is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientist or Senior Scientist to support our cutting‑edge proteomics research and service programs. This role will focus on executing and optimizing LC‑MS/MS‑based workflows, contributing to both internal technology development and client‑driven projects. A primary emphasis will be on post‑translational modifications (PTMs), including the development of novel methods for their detection and characterization. The successful candidate will also participate in project planning, cross‑functional collaboration, and day‑to‑day laboratory operations, including instrument maintenance and resource coordination. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to scientific rigor, innovation, and operational excellence.

Salary Range $100,000 - $150,000 per year
Job Location Alameda, California — Onsite Role
Major Responsibilities
Develop and validate new technologies and products related to proteomics and post‑translational modifications (PTMs)
Lead the application of proteomics in clinical diagnostics, drug discovery, and related research areas
Design and execute project plans, assess feasibility, conduct experiments, and analyze data
Devise specialized technical solutions and provide expert support for key proteomics initiatives
Oversee the maintenance and operation of laboratory instruments and management of consumables
Prepare, document, and present scientific findings in internal and external settings as needed
Provide regular project updates and maintain effective communication with the manager
Job Requirements
Ph.D. fresh graduates / Ph.D.s with 1 to 3 years of working experience
Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, proteomics, or a related discipline
Hands‑on experience in operating mass spectrometers coupled with nano‑LC systems
Proficient in building and troubleshooting complex LC‑MS/MS workflows, from sample preparation to data analysis
Demonstrated experience with DIA (Data‑Independent Acquisition) workflows, including method development and data interpretation
Skilled in molecular cloning, protein biochemistry, and cell biology techniques
Preferred background in epigenetics, histone modifications, or PTM‑related research
Strong scientific writing skills, with a track record of publishing high‑quality papers in peer‑reviewed journals
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed, with strong teamwork and communication abilities
