Position Summary The Executive Vice President of Economic Development is responsible for managing the economic development efforts in alignment with the CEO’s direction, provides leadership and oversight for the Economic Development initiatives of Partnership Lake Houston, personally executing the following responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities in the Lake Houston Area include:
Supporting retention and expansion of existing businesses
Conducting community outreach and engagement initiatives
Leading and contributing to strategic economic development planning
Coordinating with key stakeholders, local agencies, and regional partners
Driving efforts that directly impact the growth and vitality of the local economy
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business Attraction, Retention & Expansion
Develop and lead a Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Program
Recruit and support new and existing businesses
Create marketing and recruitment strategies
Respond to inquiries and present economic development proposals
Develop, Engage and Grow Partnerships
Coordinate economic development efforts with cities, schools, and workforce partners
Maintain active collaboration with developers, brokers, and business leaders
Support economic initiatives such as downtown development in Humble, TX
Participate in regional, state, and national economic development events
Maintain property and site inventories
Develop quarterly and annual economic reports
Maintain communication with local governments and partners
Contribute to publications and present economic data to stakeholders
Represent the region at conferences and trade shows
Data & Information Management
Establish and track key economic indicators
Maintain databases of available properties and economic metrics
Provide research and market analysis for Lake Houston Area
Strategic Planning
Benchmark and integrate best practices
Identify new opportunities and respond to changing conditions
Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to update economic strategies
