Electrical Superintendent Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
Supervise electrical installations in commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Team Management:
Direct and coordinate electricians and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and safety.
Planning & Scheduling:
Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress against deadlines.
Quality Control:
Ensure all electrical work complies with
building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications .
Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve technical or administrative issues on‑site.
Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, engineers, and other construction teams to integrate electrical systems.
Documentation:
Maintain records of inspections, progress reports, and compliance certifications.

Strong knowledge of
electrical systems, codes, and safety standards
Leadership and team management skills
Ability to read and interpret
blueprints and technical drawings
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities under pressure
Typical Qualifications
Education:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
Several years in electrical construction, with supervisory or foreman‑level experience
Certifications:
OSHA safety training, journeyman/master electrician license (depending on state requirements)
Work Environment
Primarily
construction sites , sometimes office‑based for planning and reporting
Requires
long hours, site visits, and coordination with multiple stakeholders
Safety gear and adherence to strict protocols are essential
