This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time, temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

Position Details

Salary: $1391.74 – $1527.30 per lecture unit rate, $1113.42 – $1221.77 per lab unit rate (Column 1 – 3)

Teaching courses such as Biology 220 Medical Microbiology.

Ensuring all degrees are verbalized on a legible transcript.

Creating culturally responsive biology instruction that addresses equity gaps.

Co‑ordinating curriculum with full‑time and adjunct faculty to serve historically underrepresented students.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s in any biological science.

OR Bachelor’s in any biological science AND Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science.

OR possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject area.

OR equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications

Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in biology.

Demonstrated ability to address equity gaps for racially minoritized groups.

Experience collaborating with full‑time and adjunct faculty to maintain inclusive curriculum.

Success working with historically underrepresented, non‑traditional, or disabled students.
