Position Summary:
Winamac Community High School is seeking an experienced, motivated, and student-centered leader to serve as our Varsity Head Football Coach. Winamac is a Class 1A football program competing in IHSAA Sectional 42 and is a member of the Hoosier North Athletic Conference. Our Warriors have a rich football tradition, including:
13 Conference Championships, 7 Sectional Championships, 2 Regional Championships
Winamac will return 12 starters and 17 letter winners from last year's team
Create a positive and educational experience for all student-athletes
Provide leadership and oversight of the entire football program (youth, middle school, and high school), ensuring alignment of offensive, defensive, and special teams philosophies
Develop student-athletes skills and fundamentals in order to compete at a high level
Plan and implement weekly and daily practice plans
Evaluate, select, and mentor assistant coaches and feeder program staff.
Model and promote character, accountability, and integrity on and off the field
Lead and coordinate off-season strength, conditioning, and skill development
Communicate consistently and professionally with administration, student-athletes, and families
Ensure adherence to all IHSAA and Winamac Community Schools policies and regulations
Oversee and maintain accurate equipment inventory
Support the academic success and personal development of student-athletes
Qualifications:
Successful prior head coaching experience (preferred)
Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to teach fundamentals, develop athletes, and build culture
Strong communication and program leadership skills
Knowledge of effective coaching methodologies, game planning, and film evaluation
