Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state, and district policies, rules, regulations, and procedures. Adhere to standards of professional conduct as outlined in Governing Board Policy. Follow guidelines established by the NO Pass/NO Play policy. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and on transportation. Support the overall school athletic program by developing strategies to encourage student participation. Ensure accurate inventory, storage, issuance, care, and collection of athletic equipment. Adhere to district policies related to transportation, student travel, supervision, use of facilities, and key management. Schedule, organize, supervise, and control the environment for practices, competitions, and events. Maintain knowledge of the sport being coached. Additional Responsibilities for Head Coach:

Maintain and manage budgets tied to the athletic program. Ensure proper supervision and conduct of assistant and volunteer coaches. Qualifications:

Candidate must be at least 21 years old. Possess a current CPR certification. Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements, and certifications as determined by federal, state, and district criteria. Pass a background investigation as outlined by the district. Be recommended by the principal or designee. Receive Governing Board approval. Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Additional for Head Coaches (Varsity, JV, Freshman levels):

Possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate. Lower-level coaches must be under the supervision of a certified staff member if not certified. Volunteer Coaches:

Must always be under the supervision of a full-time certified staff member, designated via PUHSD approved process. Supervision:

Received from Unit Principal, Assistant Principal, or Certified Staff. Given to Assistant Coaches and Volunteer Coaches. Prepared by:
