Job Summary The Lead Unified Communications Engineer is a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal design, performance, and reliability of our unified communications (UC) infrastructure. You'll spearhead technical projects, act as a subject matter expert for our UC platform, and mentor other team members to enhance the team's overall capabilities. This role demands deep technical expertise in network and telecommunications technologies, as well as experience in Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Teams Phone, and integrating UCaaS/CCaaS platforms. Responsibilities Technical Leadership and Architecture Design: implement and manage complex unified communications solutions across our corporate offices and practice network. Provide technical expertise and ensure solutions align with business needs and technology standards. Project Execution: Lead and execute UC-related projects, including technology upgrades, rollouts, and migrations involving voice, video, and collaboration solutions. Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Troubleshooting and Support: Serve as the final escalation point for complex UC issues. Perform deep-dive troubleshooting of voice, video, and network-related incidents to ensure swift resolution and minimal downtime. Platform Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the UC platform for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Proactively identify and implement enhancements to improve user experience. Team Mentorship: Share technical knowledge, best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies with the UC team. Guide, advise, and support colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge. Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and other external parties on technical issues, escalations, and project-related activities. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive documentation of UC architecture, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices. Foster knowledge sharing throughout the team. Qualifications Required: A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a Unified Communications engineering or architecture role. Deep expertise in network infrastructure (SDWAN, firewalls, and switches), VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323), QoS, and telephony systems. Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve complex UC issues across network, voice, and video domains. Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide and develop other UC team members. Ability to travel up to 30% as needed Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Phone deployment and administration. Working knowledge of integrating UCaaS and CCaaS platforms. Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
