Unified Communications Engineer (UCaaS Engineer)

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field; eight years of experience in network infrastructure, information security, web development, and/or development/administration, including three years of planning, configuring, and maintaining enterprise voice/telephony infrastructure, with recent hands-on work in Microsoft Teams Phone. Equivalent training and experience may be considered. Key Qualifications: Experience designing and implementing unified communications solutions in hybrid or cloud environments. Proven troubleshooting skills in complex UC environments, including SBCs, PSTN connectivity, and Teams integrations. Experience with migration projects to Teams Phone is highly desirable. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Zoom, Cisco, Skype for Business is a plus. Deep understanding of Microsoft Teams Phone architecture (Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Calling Plans). Proficiency in IP telephony, VoIP protocols (SIP), and enterprise network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, QoS). Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and identity/access management. Experience with Teams-certified devices and conference room AV systems. Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API. Awareness of cybersecurity best practices for UC environments. Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license with a good driving record, meeting DMV criteria. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI background check, and education verification. Must pass a stringent background check for high-security areas per CJIS policies. US citizenship or lawful US residency for the past ten years. Designing and planning UCaaS solutions, developing technical roadmaps, and requirements gathering. Building, configuring, and deploying UCaaS platforms. Providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, and system optimization. Vendor engagement and stakeholder communication. Creating technical documentation and training staff. Providing on-call emergency support outside normal hours. Maintaining personal mobile technology as a condition of employment.
