Design and validation of brake tubes, brake hoses and wheel speed sensors. All aspects of component design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met Manage the release of the components, bill of material, CAD drawings, design verification plan, physical testing, management of suppliers, issuing change notices, vehicle build support, issue resolution and PPAP. Interface with Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and Assembly Plants. Manage product performance to meet functional, cost and weight targets. Perform product release and change management processes. Direct packaging in vehicle environment Manage supplier and internal DVPR?s and DFMEA?s Support AQP, PSO, product launch and ongoing maintenance of carryover product. Be responsible for design and release of designated components. Develop and refine routings for brake tubes, brake hoses and wheel speed sensors, considering functional, safety, reliability and performance requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors of Science in Engineering - Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical 3-5 years experience Aptitude for mechanical engineering demonstrated by work experience or academic projects Strong communication skills, including the ability to interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Strong GD&T skill set Strong project management skills/experience Proficiency in engineering disciplines, such as DVPR, DFMEA, etc Formal training/experience in problem solving, quality and reliability Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green belt / Black Belt certification Action oriented and customer focused Experience in manufacturing of vehicle components and vehicle assembly Previous experience with brake tubes, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors
