Position Overview The Assistant Center Store Manager assures that customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective management of the assigned area. This role oversees front‑end operations and staff in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, rotating responsibility across designated areas.
Areas of Responsibility
Front-End – Oversees front‑end staff, resource scheduling, parking lot operations, and store balancing function.
Night Crew – Oversees overall operations, productivity standards, night receiving, facility security, shrink management, and readiness for next day opening.
Frozen/Dairy/Deli – Responsible for productivity, fresh stock, schematic & stocking standards, and shrink management.
Evening – Oversees merchandising, product conditions, back room, steel, and shelving.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Provides customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
Contributes to gross profit goals through effective management of price integrity, shrink control, ordering, and inventory.
Leads associates with focus on accountability and high business performance outcomes.
Develops and trains associates, completes supervision reports, fosters a collaborative environment.
Utilizes resources to improve productivity, flexibility, and labor efficiency.
Oversees cold chain, store cleanliness, and sanitation compliance.
Maintains schematic integrity, shelf conditions, display maintenance, code-date rotation, and fresh image.
Manages facility security and hazardous waste processing.
Manages cashier balancing and store ordering and inventory processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Strong communication, interpersonal, supervisory, training, organizational, and math skills.
Knowledge of department operations, products, visual merchandising, hazardous materials, food safety rules, and applicable contracts/work rules.
Education One year of college (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience).
Experience Minimum six months as Key Carrier or nine months as Perimeter Department Manager or equivalent.
Other Requirements Must be available to work a variety of retail hours. Will be required to rotate and train in all Assistant Center Store Manager areas.
Physical Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Hiring Pay Range $28.67 – $28.67 per hour.
