Position Overview The Assistant Center Store Manager ensures that our customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective management of the assigned area. This position oversees front‑end operations and staff in the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, and rotates responsibility among Front‑End, Night Crew, Frozen/Dairy/Deli, and Evening areas.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service.

Contribute to gross profit goals through effective price integrity, shrink control activities, and product ordering management.

Directly lead associates in the assigned area with a focus on accountability and high business performance outcomes.

Develop and train associates, complete supervision reports, and foster a collaborative working environment.

Utilize resources to improve productivity, flexibility, and efficiencies of labor and quality of the shopping experience.

Oversee cold chain, shrink, price integrity, and store cleanliness and sanitation compliance.

Maintain schematic integrity, shelf conditions, display maintenance, code‑date rotation, and fresh image.

Oversee facility security, hazardous waste processing, and night receiving function.

Manage cashier balancing and ordering/inventory processes.

Occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation Hiring pay range: $28.37 - $28.37 per hour.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Strong communication, interpersonal, supervisory, training, organization, and paperwork/administration skills, and math skills for excellent customer service.

Knowledge of department operations, products, processes, visual merchandising techniques, store hazardous materials, food safety rules, and basic applicable contract/work rules.

Education One year of college (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience).

Experience Minimum six months as Key Carrier or nine months as Perimeter Department Manager, or equivalent.

Other Requirements Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours and will be required to rotate/train in all Assistant Center Store Manager areas (Front‑End, Night Crew, Frozen/Dairy/Deli, and Evening).

Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
