Director of Real Estate
Established in 2010, Wanxiang America Real Estate has a small and flat organizational structure, an extensive pool of discretionary capital, and has invested more than $1.2 billion in equity in over 120 commercial real‑estate investment deals across the United States. Investments span Hospitality, Resort, Office, Industrial, Retail, Land, Multi‑Family, Education, Mixed‑Use, Condos, and Senior Housing markets.
Reporting This individual reports directly to the Founder and Managing Director.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Oversight – Monitor and manage the performance of assigned hotel (primarily) and other broad‑based assets to ensure alignment with the company’s investment objectives and financial goals.
Financial Analysis – Conduct detailed financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to evaluate property performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strategic Planning – Develop and implement project and asset management strategies to enhance property value, including capital expenditure planning, repositioning, and operational enhancements.
Operator Collaboration – Work closely with third‑party hotel operators and other property management teams to ensure operational excellence, compliance with brand standards, and achievement of KPIs.
Market Analysis – Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and economic factors to inform investment decisions and optimize revenue management strategies.
Capital Projects – Oversee capital improvement projects, including renovations and upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals.
Reporting – Prepare and present detailed performance reports, including financial metrics, operational updates, and strategic recommendations to senior management and investors.
Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks related to property operations, market conditions, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, brand partners, and other stakeholders to support asset management objectives.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial real‑estate asset and project management, with emphasis on hotel financing and operations, multi‑family, industrial, and other broad‑based and top‑tier investment assets.
Strategic thinker, detail‑oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with a passion for driving results in the real‑estate investment industry.
Regular travel to portfolio properties may be required for site visits, operator meetings, and project oversight.
Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of a dynamic portfolio and stakeholder communications.
Experience in leanly staffed organizations where quick prioritization and practical problem‑solving are demonstrated.
Demonstrated success in building and nurturing long‑term business relationships.
Reputation of leadership, creativity, excellent communication, and a track record of asset and project management and investment analysis.
Intellectual honesty with staff, management, ownership, and customers; consistently meeting or exceeding commitments with high ethical standards. Tough mindedness, good humor, self‑confidence, and performance typify the desired approach.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred, not required.
Certifications Certifications such as CFA, CPA, CPM, CIMA, CHAM, CHAMP, CHAE, etc. are relevant and helpful – not required.
Compensation Competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus. Full benefits are provided. Longer‑term incentive awards will be considered for outstanding candidates.
